Minerbio’s Public Library

The Municipality of Minerbio decided to gives to his new library two different names: “Biblioteca Comunale di Minerbio” and “Ψυχῆς ἰατρεῖον”.
The first name is more institutional and it means “Minerbio’s Public Library”. The second one is a quote from the ancient Library of Alexandria that was one of the largest and significant libraries of the hellenistic period. According to popular description, an inscription above the shelves read “Ψυχῆς ἰατρεῖον” which means “the place of the cure of the soul”.
The client wanted an identity that was both classic (referring to the hellenistic world) and modern because of the modernization of Minerbio.
